1000milesby 1000milesApr 16th 2014
The Aim: To become the first woman to run unsupported from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

The Plan: To push a trailer across the length of the British Isles (roughly 1000 miles). To learn, to meet people, to exist in nature.

The Purpose (is two fold):

1. To raise money and awareness for a local Mind project called 'Go Wild Stay Well'. This project utilises various forms of 'green therapy' to support those with mental illness in the area. ‘Green therapy’ is a simple concept. It incorporates anything from a quick walk and chat in the park, to gardening or allotment projects, to a jolly good hike in the Quantocks. It uses something that is available on our doorsteps, with no unpleasant side-effects, to provide preventive and therapeutic intervention for those suffering from mental distress.

2. To spread a positive message. To remind people of the simple pleasures that nature and exercise can provide and to emphasise its value in, not just physical well-being, but mental well-being and happiness.
