Pyrenees Crosstrainer
Pyrenees Crosstrainer
No shortage of training opportunities here in the Hautes Pyrenees. Now I have plenty of time to train I wonder how I competed and trained for all the triathlons from 1986 onwards with a job to do as well.
So I must focus on what works best and race as and when I can.

Endurance Base

Crosstrainerby CrosstrainerJan 10th 2011
Last week was the first good week of starting my endurance base work. Lengthening both my runs and bikes on time and distance will enable me to start some more quality work as Spring begins. It is all too easy to go out for a bike or run with no specific aim in sight. So once I've achieved a good base then its time to be specific about the quality and introduce some hill work fartlek sessions and reps. If you train below race pace all the time and then expect to race faster it just doesn't happen. So to race faster train faster but not until the body can cope.
