Tin Man
Making a decision whether to target and Ironman in 2010 at the ripe old age of 42!

Sterted tri last year just before I was 40, probably as a bit of a mid life crisis.

Thought I would use this to set out my thoughts, plans and general feelings.

Lane etiquette?

Morning, just finished one of my weekly swim sessions and a thought struck me!

Swimming is very much like driving a car. There are those who obey the strick laws, overtakling smoothly, staying in the appropriate lane and just letting the world turn!

There are then the middle lane terrors! People who either through choice or short sightedness end up in the wrong lane (generally a lane that is swimming quicker), and rather than moving across they insist on continuing ploughing forward!

And then there are the aggressive bully's, recklessly overtaking, tumble turning.

Fortunately I am generally strong enought to keep up in the faster lanes so I dont suffer from being aMiddle Lane Terror but I do admit to becoming frustrated with people when they dont respect other swimmers. If sonmeone is swimming faster I will wait a few seconds at the wall to let them turn, will move across to let them glide past!

Swimming is taxing enough!
