Ring Road Torture

LisaBoardmanby LisaBoardmanJan 16th 2011
After a nice rest day yesterday had planned to do a long cycle with Caroline today..... so that's just what I did. I'm not quite as brave as the herd so decided to do a few laps of the Ring Road cause it might be a bit sheltered from the wind........ ended up being 15 laps, although Caroline will say 16 laps. We fell out about how many we were on on lap 8(well she will say 9). It WAS 8.

Had a little race with Paul McCloskey's lad, Brogan, on lap 6 followed closely by Iseult the wife. We met Donna on lap 9 (not 10) and thought oh great another person to lift the boringness of it all but on return she was nowhere to be found. I was then tortured by the song "I had a girl, Donna was her name" by Richie Vallins I think. Caroline tried to change the tune with "Video killed the Radio Star" - feckin make your ears bleed.

So all in all - did a 65k in strong winds.

Should really be doing kettlebells now but don't know if I've got the motivation.... we'll see!

Hi Lisa Boardman here. I've been cycling for a fair few years now and have been doing triathlons for 3 years. I joined Fingal Tri last year and it has been a great way of meeting like minded people because most friends/family just think us triathletes are off the wall. I'm not really into competing to win, more for the enjoyment of three disciplines and the craic! I train mostly with BFF Caroline which is perfect cause we are free the same hours for training and are pretty much the same level of fitness. She also is great for entertainment! And NO she's not my sister/twin and defo not me! Very proud to won best female sprint time and olympic time in Fingal Tri for 2010.

I'm sure the blog will be hit and miss when it is updated. I think I prefer facebook!
