60 mile bike, 2 hours kendo

Did a 60 mile bike ride with Derek O'Chiu and his brother, Leon and sister, Kristine. We made ok time considering they just started cycling for 1 month for the first half up to Stauton, IL but on they way back almost the whole 30 miles there was a pretty strong headwind. To make up for slower pace I practiced some surging, sprinting, wind surge, big gear, and spinning, and by the end I was worn out due to lack of proper nutrition. Not too bad ride but I know I can do better! Then to SLU for 2 hours of kendo with Yuki Kuroda for relatively easy practice of waza, basics, and some oji waza as well as new practice. As much as I love triathlon I am sad and disappointed how my kendo is going down hill. :( I hope to perhaps be able to race for money so I won't have to work as hard or work becomes easier so I have more time to do all these things I love without sacrificing. Though realistically as a single guy with flexible job and almost no commitments I know these good times are limited. Whether it be a girl that's worth sacrificing my training or job responsibilities become higher I know that time spent with people who I love is more important than my race results! (Though I don't always show it)
