Aikido, rest

Just simple day of pretty relaxed but warm aikido practice due to AC not working and temperature whole week being in low to mid 80's and humid. Bled on mat again, so annoyed how my feet always seem to open up around nail or because of old cuts. Planned on doing a ride to open up legs/hips but weather in afternoon turned to really heavy rain and storms for most afternoon. Other than that hydrated, carbo loaded, got gels, and ready for 26 miles tomorrow!!!!

PS - Bought a 40lb vest today and wore around for 3-4 hours straight, felt heavy but not too bad till I just took it off......Core and back are sore!!!! LOLOL

Hey mark,

Do you still do the Crossfit training? My brother says he's been doing it and he certainly seems strong right now (Yes we do have a bit of sibling rivalry!)We don't have an actual Crossfit gym near us but I've noticed that they have YouTube clips online, have you tried any and would you recommend?

Actually yes I used to be super into Crossfit then migrated into SEALfit. I gained a lot of strength but at same time I developed injuries as I taught myself. has awesome videos as does SEALfit, though I've really loved Kemme fitness as you don't need gym and there are awesome exercises! ( For triathlon I found its not as important as getting on bike but for winter months or when weather really bad Kemme and SEALfit is better as they are endurance based. Crossfit is about bulking and lifting heavier which in triathlon is actually hinderance. I'm 'weaker' in terms of lifting but I'm averaging 22-24mph on bike compared to 16-18 last year when I was stronger. Thanks for comment! :) and reminding me I should update!
