My First Ironman
I decided to do the 2013 Ironman Louisville as my first long course race. This blog serves as my diary to capture training highlights and struggles along the way. Race day is 25 Aug 13.

Based on my experience at the half-iron distance and borrowing liberally from Don Fink's "Be Iron Fit", I have developed a 30 week training program to get me to Louisville.

Week 20 - 10 Jun

Mon - rest day, working through ITB pain in left leg
Tues - second recovery day for ITB relief; rolled with tube and feeling improvement
Wed - 2000 yd swim, 3 mi run; slow run to nurse ITB, no pain but continuing to roll and stretch
Thurs - 15 mi bike (still nursing ITB, mostly on bike); 4 mi run
Fri - 3000 yd swim
Sat - 17 mi run around the track for Relay for Life (4AM start)
Sun - 3.5 hour spin due to rain; watched kids race in O'Fallon Grand Prix
