My First Ironman
I decided to do the 2013 Ironman Louisville as my first long course race. This blog serves as my diary to capture training highlights and struggles along the way. Race day is 25 Aug 13.

Based on my experience at the half-iron distance and borrowing liberally from Don Fink's "Be Iron Fit", I have developed a 30 week training program to get me to Louisville.

Week 30 - 19 Aug

Mon - 60 min spin
Tues - 4 mi run, 2000 yd swim

Trying not to get too excited about the race. Slowing laying things out for the trip. Picked up Francesco from the Bike Surgeon after the pre-race tune-up. The bike just looks fast with the race wheels on and I can't wait to ride one more time tomorrow night after work.

Kaeden went into the hospital on Wed, so no workouts on Wed or Thurs. After MRI and fluid drain from hip, turned out to be toxic synovitis that settled into his hip. He was released on Fri after I left for Louisville. A stressful time for all.
