lofty goals
Hi...I am very new to triathlon, well actually to any sport. Did a try-a-tri in September 09 and caught the bug. Not sure at this point what the end goal is....just enjoying the ride!

Winter training has begun

So my first real commitment to this sport was to join the Halifax Triathlon Club. I must admit that I was very nervous about this as I would not consider myself athletic in any sense of the word. I signed up for a three month session of twice a week swimming with the coach.

I should not have feared! Coach K is awesome.

We are split in to 6 lanes by ability. I am in lane 1 along with about 8 others and we are all of similar ability. The first month I was one of the slower swimmers but I am now in the lead on some of the drills that we do. My technique is definitely improving as well as my speed, but what is more surprising is my endurance. We are up to 1.4km twice a week and I am not exhausted when I get out the pool! How cool is that.

My fear is running as I find this the most challenging of all but I am determined to conquor that. i still cannot run straight for 15 minutes but I am building up to it slowly. I will be able to do this!!!!
