So, I am a swimmer turned triathlete!

Swimming is obviously ok, biking not too bad but needs some strength work, running is my kryptonite!

Post of the week

Wilkoby WilkoApr 20th 2009
It has been a good week this week, although not from training!

Raced yesterday at the final Tewkesbury Aquathlon. I managed to convince my parents to come along and see what it was all about. It was an encouraging run, only just off my 20min 5k target, the course was cut slightly short due to a marching band practicing on the field but not by much.

Overall position of 6th with a total time of 25:18 (5:06 swim, 20:12 run), which placed me 5th in cat. The overall winners for the series were already decided with Katie Silke and Peter Darton sewing up the top spots. The male series was fairly close with the 2nd place with 14 points, 3rd with 16, 4th with 18 and me in 5th with 19 points across the series.

Beautiful weather for a good race.

Still no pictures from the lakes, may be up soon depending on time available.

well done on the aquathon series mate. did the training camp improve your run split?

Thanks Dave. I think it was partly the training camp. I have been spending longer on the bike, so my legs must be getting stonger and running with my work colleagues when I can. I think there is a lot to just being generally fitter and becoming more aware of how hard I can push and for how long.

How is the knee holding up?
