Bristol Half Marathon Fundraising

amarianby amarianAug 19th 2009
Some time ago, I have promised myself, rather insanely, that I will complete a half ironman before turning 40 (Yeah, sure, and a full one before turning 80!). I know, I've still got a bit of time ... However, as with everything, it's never too early to start preparing. So, I settled by registering for this year's edition of Bristol's half marathon ... To give myself an extra-incentive to train and eventually finish the race, I thought I would also raise money for a good cause ...

I'm raising money for COCO, which is a children's charity that is trying to make a difference to the lives of children affected by poverty, war, famine and disease, mainly through education and healthcare initiatives. They funded projects primarily in Africa but also in Thailand, Bosnia, Peru and Romania.

If you would like to help, please visit
Even £1 would be very appreciated :-) (or €1.15, or $1.63, or RON 4.89, or...).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving â€" they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now:

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for asking.
Yea, it went well, although it depends by which standards ... For me, being the first ever road race, I could say it didn't go too bad, although I was aiming for 1:49 ...
