Helping the infirm round a half marathon...

edwarmaby edwarmaOct 19th 2009
Nice weekend of being active...a mostly-steady bike ride with the club Saturday morning, including two new road cyclists with very clean bikes who quickly picked it up. First day that legs have felt properly recovered from Barcelona, so that's good. Coached BAD kids in the afternoon: "I've done 2 lengths!" "Very good - now do 2 more" "I've done 4 lengths!" "Very good..." etc. They are great!

And a bit of a trot round the Cardiff Half on Sunday morning with my younger brother who did a great demonstration of precisely how not to prepare for a half marathon - longest training run in the 5 days before the race, football on Friday, red wine and chinese for tea on Saturday, no breakfast Sunday...what's going to happen? Oh that's right, a total bonk at 3.5 miles! Eventually we found some Lucozade and the next 9 miles were a breeze so well done Pete - a learning experience?
