Tri-ing Again
My name is Givens Phillips. I raced as an age grouper for a few seasons several years ago. Now I am trying to get back into shape and am wanting to race again now that my 12 year old daughter has taken an interest in the sport. These are my observations and experiences along the journey down that road. I hope you enjoy.

Yesterdays Ride

givensby givensMar 19th 2010
Yesterday I got to go outside and ride in the sun for the first time in a long time. Around here it has been cold, raining, cloudy or a combination of the three for quite sometime. It is amazing to me how much of a difference the environmental conditions play on one's performance. I rode the same route I have ridden the last several times I was able to ride outside but somehow I felt stronger and faster the entire ride. I do not think my training has increased my fitness enough to make that much of a difference. I attribute it solely to the sun. How's that for solar power. Hey, I guess that means I am going green! I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with environmental conditions. I do not means extreme changes where safety has to be compromised to be faster such as in pouring rain etc. I have ridden the same route with temperature being close to the same the main difference in yesterdays ride and previous rides was merely the presence of the wonderful sun shining down on me. Anyone? Comments or am I alone in this situation?
