So I'm now a pirate, (ie normal people who are inspired by the runners world forumites doing IMs)..... This involves drinking beer, buying lots of yellow kit, oh, and a race or 2 a year to give it an objective.

I bumped into the pirates via the runners world magazine / forum, and they gave me the confidence to dare enter an IM.

History
2010 IMDE - flat, Outlaw - flat
2011 IM Regensburg 2011 - flat, IMWales - hilly, oh so windy
2012 Lanza - hilly and windy
2013 - IM Lanza - the return :-)

Recovering from knee issues, (too many rugby injuries) so now the plan is to swim OK, be an Uber Biker, and just let the run take care of itself. Oh Well

so I resumed basic week training.

My basic week looks like:-
Mon Bike commute
30 min functional leg session at lunch
part run home
Swim
Tue part run in
30 min core
Bike commute
Wed Extended bike commute inc intervals
Optional spin bike intervals, (If i miss morning session)
part run home
Swim
Thu part run in
Optional general weights session
Bike commute
Fri Rest
yoga at lunch
Sat Swim
optional run
Sun Long bike

Weekly Summary

wk total comments
1 1.5 10 3.5 0.5 15.5 Aim - re-establish my basic week. Get swimming, start bike/run commuting again.

get ready for 30 runs of 30 minutes in 30 days of September.

30 minute runs were an absolute killer after no running for 3 months.

runs #1. #2 done
2 1.5 12.5 3.5 1 15.5 Southern Sportive. Great 3 hours, then I was rubbish. I have lost lots over the last 3 months. Oh well. 190k in 6.55.

Critical Power up to 265w from 240w measured 4 weeks ago :-)

runs #3-8 done of 30 of 30 mins in 30 days.

Great to hear that you've resumed training again, here's to a successful build towards Lanza 2013!
