O.rangeCannon's pirate journey!!!!!!!
O.rangeCannon's pirate journey!!!!!!!

So I'm now a pirate, (ie normal people who are inspired by the runners world forumites doing IMs)..... This involves drinking beer, buying lots of yellow kit, oh, and a race or 2 a year to give it an objective.

I bumped into the pirates via the runners world magazine / forum, and they gave me the confidence to dare enter an IM.

Bastards!

History
2010 IMDE - flat, Outlaw - flat
2011 IM Regensburg 2011 - flat, IMWales - hilly, oh so windy
2012 Lanza - hilly and windy
2013 - IM Lanza - the return :-)

Recovering from knee issues, (too many rugby injuries) so now the plan is to swim OK, be an Uber Biker, and just let the run take care of itself. Oh Well

January - lets get going

ok - IM training kicks off for real

Xmas was full of cold...... so January started and I cracked on with my basic week. all went well for 2 whole weeks, although no real long biking....
We had a holiday booked to go to La Santa in mid january. The plan was to bike, bike and bike some more.
Did a good bike on the Sunday before leaving for Lanza on the thursday, but had a sore throat....that moved into being a full on chest cough in a day. I was on night nue to try and sleep - this was bad.......
I did nothing for 3 days and seriously thought of not taking the bikes out - it was that bad....

But I packed them, and off we went.

I felt better the first day, the heat, (ok 20 degrees) and salt air calmed things down..
so I had a reasonable week.... better than I hoped.

Got back and continued slowly...

Hightlights have been actually getting to the gym, getting swimming and running too is going well.
Biking has been more limited to turbos and basic commuting....
