It's Tomorrow!

rikby rikSep 17th 2010
I arrived back home yesterday having spent an unhealthy week away. I went out for a cycle/run but after a couple of miles on the bike had a puncture! I am at one with the bike :-)

I fixed the trusty steed but I'm not confident the backup inner tube is a good fit. It got me home anyway. I transitioned and went out for a run. Weather was shocking - forecast for Saturday is light rain, 14C, 10mph wind. I've been put into wave 4 out of 10 which means I go at 8.45am. I was expecting us beginners to go last but am too nervous to worry about it now.

My hired wet suit didn't arrive! I've managed to borrow one at short notice so hope it fits. I'm still concerned about transitioning...

I'm not going to predict anything but here are some targets:
750m Swim 25mins
19k Bike 40mins
5k Run 30mins
Transitions 1hour

So let's say 1:40 which on last years results would leave me 387th out of 459. That'll do. I watched the World Triathlon Championship final yesterday for inspiration and they finished twice this distance in the same time! Amazin..

I'm going to sign-in in a couple of hours and get my free pasta and recce the course. Tick follows tock follows tick follows tock..
