X-Men Train

X-Men Train
I had secretly hoped that all these injuries I've been having were actually a Wolverine style metamorphosis and the next training session would see me crush all my previous times. Sadly this hasn't happened - there aren't any miracles as any triathlon blogger will tell you, just hard work.

I was due to fly to Madrid today but the French Air Traffic Controllers are on strike and my flight and 4-day business trip was cancelled. Probably just as well, with only this week left for any serious training I found out the gym in the hotel was out of action and that it didn't have a swimming pool anyway. Add this to the unlikely appearance of a sensible diet and it's just as well. Thanks French people.

My daughter and I visited Tatton Park on Sunday and I took a picture of the lake. The top of most lakes all look the same to me - as I now know it's what's underneath that counts. Having taken a look I've decided to park any further thoughts of diving into the swan poo until the morning of the event. Tatton Park is fantastic though - am really looking forward to biking through there.

I'm still doing some mild training so as not to aggravate any injuries. It's not very satisfactory but I'm sticking to my distances and not over training. Steam train rather than bullet train but getting there nonetheless.
