Nearly well, and about time![]() Two and a half weeks later, and IĀ'm nearly over the lurgy. Not entirely, but enough to be planning on riding tomorrow.
IĀ've been swimming for a week, and a very poor, inefficient swim this morning had one major upside in proving that my body is ok for being under stress, out of breath, working hard and surviving without feeling too grim. So IĀ'm really looking forward to riding my bike! IĀ've missed it! A steady to moderate 1.5 Ā- 2 hours would be ideal. Hopefully IĀ'll feel no worse for it, as my half ironman is now beginning to loom somewhat in the mind. 6 weeks tomorrow, and two weeks of no training was not quite what I had planned for this point. I got in a really solid couple of months from November, so IĀ'm really hoping the endurance will have held. If IĀ'm well enough to get going properly next week IĀ'm hoping IĀ'll be okay, though I have had to do a little backscaling of expectations for the race, which is probably no bad thing given itĀ's my first attempt over the distance. A few momentary panics aside I think IĀ've done okay at dealing with the time off (boyfriend may disagree), so that's an improvement on last year's enforced month off at least! ![]() Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Better to rest and get over the bug fully as you have done than try to do too much too soon, however frustrating this may be!
Very exciting about your Half Ironman (I loved this distance). Most people experience some sort of illness during a season so no need to panic, just bounce out of the other side, get focused again and I'm sure you'll do great! | Previous posts Tags My Links Welcome to TriBlogs the free online training solution.Plan, record, analyse and share your triathlon experiences.
