Introductions.......It's a bit late to be starting my blog now in hindsight......but thought it would be a nice place to store some of my photos. It's now five weeks until my first Ironman and I've completed most of the hard work (so I'm told).
I've had the help of a coach, physio, osteopath, podiatrist, sports masseurs, fellow triathlete friends, supportive parents and one very patient boyfriend! I've also bought a new bike (with all essential accessories) wetsuit, turbo trainer, winter training kit, summer training kit, heart rate monitoring stuff, various nutritional aids, some lung improving equipment and entered necessary pre race practice events (yikes, may as well re-mortgage my house). I've changed my run style, bike set up and swim stroke!!.... Is there anything left of me???? Endured "just a few" hours of riding (even in the bitter cold), put my poor suffering body through gruelling strength training sessions, and exposed my poor boyfriend to 5.50am grumps before morning swim sessions (not my best side). I'm hoping to raise money for charity www.justgiving.com/sarahleonard123, but even more than that I'm hoping to finish in one piece and still be able to convince myself in years to come that "I enjoyed it" at least a small bit. best of luck to you! look forward to hearing how it all goes! get down and get with it!

To my horror I'd become totally unfit so I set myself the goal of a half marathon...I got there, but I'm still chasing my sub 1hr 45 target!
Later I thought cycling looked quite fun so, I bought a bike and only then realised that I had to cycle on the road (second horror moment), seven years later and I don't recognise myself. After a year at BADtri (just you know being sociable) I finally decided to learn to swim (front crawl). I've even been known to attend the early morning swim sessions (but only if a post swim coffee and croissant are on offer!). So there we have it Run, Bike, Swim or something like that!
