Can I be an Ironman by 40 ?
Can I be an Ironman by 40 ?
Having taken part in several pool based sprint events since starting out in 2009, I wanted to celebrate turning 35 by completing the Vitruvian in 2011...with a long term goal of completing an Ironman by the time I'm 40. I'll keep track of the trials and tribulations here.

Cyclosportive...

I'm not quite sure what is up with me this week, but I've just signed up for a 100km sportive that takes place in 6 weeks (www.enduralionheart.co.uk). I've not ridden my bike since November last year, and the furthest that I have ridden to date is the 30 something miles from Bristol where I used to work back home to Warminster. So this could be interesting.

I will be cycling (or at least I will be starting) with my younger brother, who as well as being several inches taller than me is a regular cyclist - both on and off the road - and last September cycled with a friend from Lands End to John O'Groats without any support. I'm sure that he will find it easy, whatever bike he rides, whereas I think that the easiest bit for me will be the 5 minute drive to the start at Longleat.

Maybe the Lions will be motivation enough to get me peddling !
