Team THINK STRONG - Veronika Patty
I am a triathlete! I am also a mom and a wife, a boss, a coach, a student, a friend and a motivator and in every aspect of my life I choose to THINK STRONG! I am committed to control my thought process and choose to think only the thoughts that are productive and that will strengthen my spirit. I am dedicated to energize, empower and support others despite any circumstances.

Why do I tri??

¬"And exactly why do you do this?¬" I am sure many of you triathletes had to face this question before, and so did I many times! And the more I got asked the more I started to think about the question itself. Some of us become triathletes to challenge ourselves, to stay or get in shape, to be healthy, to be part of a group, or just because we can! Well all of these reasons are true for me as well, but there is something more this hobby of mine has to offer to me.
The reasons behind my commitment to this sport are simple; I tri because with every mile I swim my confidence rises, I tri because every hill I climb empowers me beyond it¬'s horizon, I tri because when I run I feel at peace with myself. I tri because I finish each race as a stronger version of myself then I was at the starting line!
With every new distance I approach my body and mind are pushed to their limits and the unbreakable boundaries seem to disappear! It doesn¬'t matter when the clock stops and what place I finish. What matters is that once the horn goes off, there is no turning back, no backing down! With the first stroke I take till the last stride across the finish line I am IN! Focused, ready to deal with what ever comes my way, ready for the pain, ready for the exhaustion, ready to control what I can control!
Every experience I encounter during one of my races translates directly into every other aspect of my life! Being a triathlete became much less about the results and much more about the experience over the years. My question to all of you after finishing your next race would not be ¬"how did you do¬" but rather ¬"how was it¬"? Think about the choices you make during your next race! What are your thoughts before you climb a big hill? What is the action that follows? How do you persevere? Build your blue print and you will succeed every time you follow the same thought process!
