All set, I think! #RememberBen
by timPJul 8th 2015
Itâs the last few days before the first event in the series commemorating the life of our nephew Ben and Iâm ready to go. Iâve been put back together (thanks Kim), the bike has been serviced (thanks Robbie) all of the kit is ready and miracle of miracles I even have a nutrition plan (of sorts!).
We got some custom running vests made up and although simple we think they look pretty good. Iâll be very proud to wear it during the run leg of the Cotswold 226 and subsequently at Thunder Run.
In a bit of an unconventional taper I played my first cricket match for 22 years. Probably not the wisest thing to do one week before an iron distance triathlon but it was a memorial match and I really wanted to take part. In the event it was great fun, raised a good sum of money for charity and I had the honour of opening the batting with my little brother, Benâs Dad. We even managed to score some runs and our team won the match so a very good day.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to the charity page, itâs been a great response and Iâm really hopeful that we will be able to exceed the target we set ourselves.
Iâm just about to head off for my last pre-event open water swim but look forward to sharing a race report next week.
Not triathlon, but really good fun nonetheless!
I'll be very proud to wear this on Sunday
