All I want for 2015 is to be injury free.![]() I've been plagued with injuries for last few years all caused by a dodgy back, had injections that fixed things temporarily (up to 8 months at a time & managed to play some football & do a few races) but as the drugs wore off the sciatic pain got worse so I ended up having a back op (Partial Discectomy) in May 2014 to fix Sciatic pain that was mainly in right leg. Pain was gone pretty instantly, followed by 7 weeks off work watching the world cup :) Lots of Yoga/Pilates/Gym work followed and I can now cycle ok and can run slowly - I've tried to increase pace running and keep getting pulled calf or tight hamstring all in right leg, so sod it, slow it is. I was never fast any way, so not sure if anyone else will notice.
As I'm now starting to feel stronger, I've committed to a nice little bike ride - http://www.rideacrossbritain.com/ in Sept 2015, it's only 969 miles in 9 days, what could go wrong... I've also booked a few Tri's that will hopefully all be used as training for LEJOG. Last week I cycled over 100 mles and ran 25k (very slowly), so must be heading in the right direction. Now to not overdo it and get injured again!! | Previous posts Archive September 2016 (1) March 2015 (1) February 2015 (1) January 2015 (1) July 2011 (1) June 2011 (3) May 2011 (4) April 2011 (3) March 2011 (3) February 2011 (2) Tags My Links Welcome to TriBlogs the free online training solution.Plan, record, analyse and share your triathlon experiences.
