Trigrandprix DNF for me![]() Raced the pro's, what other sport can you do that in if your cack
swim went well drafted pros fior about 3secs then did swim in 38:40 got out felt relaxed and t2 was smooth too. Bike started well, went passed mate steve early on all going well Til about 70k when I realised nobody else on the road I was on. I'd missed the s*dding left turn off the a20 and being a Berk I followed the arrows up to brands hatch again. I knew I'd messed up so thought I'd backtrack and turn right but didn't see turning again. Knew I was wrong garmin saying 90k and I'm nowhere near t1. Carried on to gravesend and the feed station girls drove passed asking 'where I was going?' then only was back I knew was via a2. Went thru sunny strood and upto top of hill to rejoin course and caught my mate dick who said he was last bike out on the course took a leasurly last 10k ride back to t2 having done 127k I decided to ditch the run! dick wasn't planning on doing run anyway due to an Injury. Gutted as felt great on the bike and reckon I'd have done the 90k in 3:10 and confident of run under the 2 hours so may have gone under 6 hours which I'd hVe been well chuffed with. Thar will teach me for taking a race route for granted, I reckon I must have had head down/been refuelling or marshal had gone for a peevwhen I missed the left turn. Next time I'll drive or ride the route 1st.
