Some sort of ConsistencyNot a bad week of smaller runs just to get back into the swing of things. The weather has not been too bad so the running outside has been great. Shame I delayed going outside so long it got dark and I had to go on the treadmill. Next week, NO DELAYING.
Today my run was great. This was the route, 4 years ago, that took out my ACL in my knee. This is the first time back on this route since then. A great 17% climb and then a long steady descent back to the valley floor. I will use this route more from now on. Shoulder is healing well. I have had 4 sessions of physio but the wounds were getting very red and sore. Then I found out why - the blind nurse that took out the stitches, actually had left some of the strand still in my arm. I flicked it and then pulled it out myself, over an inch long. Wound is now healing well. So we are still on for our big challenge next year - a little less time to train now but no excuses, we will be on that start line in Bordeaux in April and we will get to Agde on the Med 8 days later. Run Week 1 - Done Not a bad start to our run focused "off season". I managed to get 4 runs under my belt for the week although I really wanted at least 5. Day 1 - Run Training Starts Today We have finally finished our season here at Pyrenees Multisport. It has been a long year with a lot of riding, not so much distance but some pretty fast days. Then a torn ligment pulling some bone of my shoulder from swimming to much with bands only and then a crash descending at 60 kph resulting in a cracked collarbone. So now I will be starting running and swimming from scratch so it shoudl be a very exciting experiment to see what I can do - I want to race Ironman next year and have several other smaller running goals. This is ground zero and I have a hell of way to go...... |
