Run Week 2 - Done

tripyreneesby tripyreneesOct 10th 2010
Not a great week for training but I did manage to get 4 more runs in. I am suffering a little at the moment with a really bad stomach, it is not stopping me running but it is bloody uncomfortable and has not gone away for over a week. This is in addition to my left hamstring which seems to playing up again. This is the hamstring they cut for the tendon to fix my ACL last year. I felt slight pain on the final week of cycling but put it down to effort as it was a hard week on the Pyrenean Traverse. But it is still sore. I have bought come rollers (The Stick) and have been massaging out the lumps and it seems to be easing. It is not hurting while running but afterwards it is so tight.

So this week looks like this;

Run 1 - 6.5 Km
Run 2 - 6.5 Km
Run 3 - 6.5 Km (ran with Julie)
Run 4 - 6.5 Km

Same course, just to get some consistency and also due to my stomach problems (being close to home is a mental advantage).

My pacing goal at present to have the whole session average 5mins per Km. This seems to be working and as soon as my hamstring eases, I will start putting in the more structured sessions.

Off to the Alps tonight to recce a new cycling route for the 2011 season - Raid Alpine. Should be fun and hope to get in a ride up the Alp D'Huez - first time for everything.
