A great test!

Saturday was my last long training run before Miami marathon in two weeks. My carbo loading food was, for lunch homemade red beans and corn tortillas. Ffor dinner I had whole wheat pasta with a homemade tomato sauce. Pre run meal, I made a orange juice, pineapple, spinach smoothie and oatmeal with a banana.

Training was only a 30km run I had previously done 36km and 31km so this was my last long run before my race. I felt great throughout the entire time! I did drink Gatorade and had Gu gels one per hour. I am very pleased that the food I chose as my carbo loading worked great, the week before I hadn´t felt that good during my long run. New treat!!! For lunch I made an avocado, banana, and raw honey smoothie! Delicious!!!

Cold weather is still hitting us hard! No heaters in the houses which makes up for a lot of layering with clothing! Today I am planning on doing my run at noon, hoping for some sun to make it bareable. I never thought I would have to invest on winter trainning clothes while living in Guatemala! Not really sure what the weather will be in Miami for race day! But if it keeps up as it has been it will be chilly!!! THAT WHICH DOESN´T KILL US MAKES US STRONGER!
