Lieann's Triathlon journey
Welcome to my journey.

Week 1 - BAM!!

Lieannby LieannAug 17th 2012
Ok, so just over a week has passed since I joined the site and so far I have achieved the following,

1. Got a shiny new hybrid bike

2. Had 4 good swimming sessions at the pool, all in front crawl

3. Been out on shiny new bike

4. Made husband get out of bed and train with me on the bike for the last 2 mornings in a row ┬- it must be love!!

I have logged everything on here in the plan and diary and this has kept me really motivated so I am loving this site.

I live in Milton Keynes and so enjoy the benefit of having the Redways to use to cycle on; however they are a tad confusing!! Last weekend me and my husband were planning on a nice 20k ride to one of the local lakes, so off we went, got thoroughly lost and ended up clocking in around 35k!! Needless to say that in my non-fit state I was slightly fatigued for a few days.

Tomorrow we are planning another longer ride together, hopefully around the 25k mark this time and then a nice BBQ in the evening as a reward. I am really enjoying my husband┬'s support in my training and it is really helping me. Being that bit stronger in me in the leg department (not the mind!!) he really pushes me forward so its not a gentle roll around the countryside and can sometimes be a catch me if you can type affair which is great fun. We have started to get used to each others style of riding as well and communications about change of directions after a few near misses!!

I received an email this week on the Festival of Sport being held in Cornwall by St Michaels Mount. Obviously I am in no way fit enough to take on this year┬'s challenge but I have put it in the diary for next year. This part of the country means a lot to me as my Nan lived right on the beach in Long Rock and it hold some fantastic memories for me.

So that┬'s 2 challenges so far I have set myself up for, one in July and one in September and I am super excited about them.

Hi Lieann, good one sounds like you've had a great start. New kit is always a great motivation for me too. I also find it really helps to have someone to go out riding with, be it my husband or a friend, makes it more fun!
