My First Ironman
I decided to do the 2013 Ironman Louisville as my first long course race. This blog serves as my diary to capture training highlights and struggles along the way. Race day is 25 Aug 13.

Based on my experience at the half-iron distance and borrowing liberally from Don Fink's "Be Iron Fit", I have developed a 30 week training program to get me to Louisville.

Week 21 - 17 Jun

Mon - rest day
Tues - 2500 yd swim; 4 mi run (very tired mid-day)
Wed - 19 mi bike; ITB pain on the ride, rolled it after, no pain at work
Thurs - 3500 yd swim; 6 mi run in new Asics Noosa; nice fit, more firm than KSwiss BLR
Fri - 20 mi bik3
Sat - 18 mi run; very hot, walked several times on final 5 miles
Sun -3 hr spin (rain), 27 mi bike; felt pretty strong
