Ironman Wales 2012, Heartbreak Hill Photos

Oziemby OziemSep 17th 2012
After the sea swim came the very hilly bike course. We took up a position near the top of the so called "Heartbreak Hill". Sarah was very excited as this was the first outing for our new cow bell (and it was LOUD).

The first rider passed us (shown below) was Sylvain Rota closely followed by Daniel Halksworth.

The first lady passed us on the hill (and overall winner) was Regula Rohrbach.

The best outfit in a triathlon I've ever seen, and he was doing really well! I think the cape might be the new thing in cycle aerodynamics. Check out the colour coordinated bar tape! He got a extra loud cow bell ring!

"Captain Cymru" was Matt, co- founder of the the 1st IM Wales event. I told him I'd posted his picture on all the triathlon forums to allow competitors to give him grief for making such a mean course, hence the disguise, maybe!!

It certainly was a mean course. Those hills were something special :-) Great for the spectators though!

TriBlogs has been my pet project since 2005. It all started as a way for me to track my own training and I ended up sharing with my friends... the rest is history.

I write the code, test the code, debug the code, sing the theme tune... Sarah has joined the team now and she bosses me around on your behalf. If you use the site regularly and love it please help us continue by subscribing or by getting all your friends to visit the site!

On my blog you'll find my experiences attempting to be an athlete of some sort and my photo blogs of races that we visit for inspiration.
