South Cerney Long Swim 2009

South Cerney Long Swim 2009
I took part in the first of the votwo long swim series yesterday. Was an enjoyable race, 3 laps around a picturesque lake. Definitely a good race for anybody planning to do a long distance triathlon, especially because its a nice area to go for a ride/run straight after. Check out their website for details.

My race was ok, but finished in 56m53s which I was a bit disappointed with. An average of 1m30 per 100 is slow for me, was aiming for sub 54min. Wish I'd managed to get into a pack, ended up on my own after about 400m.

It was a nice swim, wasn't it. The water was balmy, and was a nice little turn out from the club.

The time is something to work towards in the next race anyway, mate. Is your next at Bournemouth or Box End?

I won't be at that one, the next one I am entered for is the sea swim. I am off to China and Mongolia in a week for a while.
TriBlogs & Me
TriBlogs has been my pet project since 2005. It all started as a way for me to track my own training and I ended up sharing with my friends... the rest is history.

I write the code, test the code, debug the code, sing the theme tune... Sarah has joined the team now and she bosses me around on your behalf. If you use the site regularly and love it please help us continue by subscribing or by getting all your friends to visit the site!

On my blog you'll find my experiences attempting to be an athlete of some sort and my photo blogs of races that we visit for inspiration.
