Outlaw 2012 Training Started 5th Dec 2010!!

Road Rash

Having cycled to work and back for the last few weeks I headed off on Monday morning with not a care in the world. This all changed at 5:15 on the way home when i hit a patch of gravel on the road while going round a corner and came to an abrupt halt with me on the ground blood coming out of my leg, sprained wrist and a broken front tooth. i am just glad that the cars around me were going slow and managed to stop. I have to thank the other cyclist who helped me to the side of the road and to the local park and ride to get a lift home. i also managed to break my rear mech again which I had just replaced a few weeks ago. Two days off work to get over the shock and see the doctor / dentist was not great and a waste of holidays. Get the took removed next week so in a dilemma to get it replaced for looks or leave out for reduced weight - not sure if the whistling would get on my nerves as the wind goes thought the hole? Need to get the bike fixed soon to allow me to continue training for Outlaw but may be a week or so until the leg has healed enough to allow me to bend it and stop the cuts reopening every time. Unforced rest which is not ideal but far enough that I can get back on with training soon.

Sounds awful, but at least you can laugh about it! That'll get you back out there quick smart!
