As the headline says, what a difference 2 weeks makes!
My wife, Sheela, spent over an hour last Friday removing the stitches, whilst watching House and drinking red wine. Ah, Friday nights aren't what they used to be!

There's been some serious revaluation going on the last couple of weeks, not least of all a foot injury (unrelated to the crash) that I thought healed has flared up to the extent that I'm booked in for an MRI.
No running at all, means a lot of DNS for the season, and a possible withdrawal from my first ironman and A race, The Outlaw Triathlon.

I have had time to reflect and look at what I'm doing, with all those days off the bike and out the pool, and remember why I started this blog in the first place. In recent days, I discovered that quite a few people I know actually read this, so it's not just a random out-pouring then.
The focus is still there though: if I open my mouth and say I'm going to do something, I have to. I'm accountable.

That said, I'm slowly having to face the fact that I'm injured and not just 'beaten up' for the first time. It's not a case of 'manning up' anymore, or 'cowboy up' as I always preferred. Any aggravation of my foot, prior to MRI, runs the risk of exasperating, if not fracturing the bloody thing!

I'm going to give it another few weeks before making any final decisions on The Outlaw, as the 24th of June is the cut-off for refunds (minus £75).
Fingers crossed, foot elevated, and there's always Challenge Henley ;)
