Swoodel's Tri Blog 2010
I've been training for 4 months now and am going to kick it up a gear in 2010, I saw an advert for this site on Facebook and thoughts I'd give blogging about it a go.

Soooooo, why a blog? Well I guess I just thought it would be a good way to keep a record of my years efforts to develop as a triathlete

I figure it's the done thing to have a post giving people a quick guide to Sam so that's what I'm going do today.

I'm Sam, I'm 21 and am a student at Nottingham Trent University. I study Product Design and am in my 4th and final year, slightly worrying that this time next year I'll be working as a designer in industry and I feel thoroughly unprepared for it!

I started training 4 months ago after a long term relationship came to an end, I had been wanting to start training for a year or so before but couldn't seem to find the time around uni and a "demanding" relationship so the break up gave me the time to get a routine in place and training making me feel the best I ever have.

Why Triathlon? Well I was never really into football and when I was starting in high school I think I was too scared to play rugby seriously after seeing the side effects it had on my brothers (broken limbs etc) So I took up cross country running and badminton nice user friendly sports! I love running and have from the age of 11 or so, I'm not a big fan of team sports, I don't like either letting people down or carrying other people through, it's bad I know but I'll get over it someday!

I then went to uni and cycling was the most effective form of transport and soon I really started to enjoy it, after that it seemed quite logical to add swimming to the mix and start training for tri's!

My aims for 2010 are to complete the London Tri and the Plymouth Tri, but am looking to do as many as possible really, I like the excitement of competing.

Well that's all for today I think, I'll do something about training next time so should be more interesting!

Cheerio, Sam
